Federal Grant Connects 18 District Schools with Pasadena's Armory Center for the Arts
Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) Superintendent Edwin Diaz today announced that the District, in partnership with Pasadena’s Armory Center for the Arts, has been awarded a $327,000 U.S. Department of Education grant to fund a three-year artist/teacher professional development collaborative in 18 district schools. PUSD’s grant is one of only 24 federal Professional Development for Arts Educators (PDAE) grants awarded across the country this year. School districts must partner with local non-profit agencies to qualify.
"Access to high quality arts education will help us accelerate achievement for all Pasadena Unified students," said Superintendent Edwin Diaz. "I am pleased to partner with the Armory Center for the Arts in developing this project that more closely connects our schools, teachers and students with the nationally recognized arts resources of Pasadena."
