Many employees attended a recent informational meeting with Human Resources and Communications staff to share reactions to the reorganization plan and process and to provide recommendations for addressing employee concerns during this transition period. I would like to reiterate our understanding of the anxiety and difficulty that affected employees are feeling, and our desire to do all we can to minimize your uncertainty, confusion and instability during the reorganization period. Therefore, we have prepared this update to give you the latest and most complete information currently available. In response to your recommendations, we have also developed a list of activities to provide improved information, support and preparation for the transition.

All school sites and district offices of the Pasadena Unified School District will close at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2008, so that all staff members can participate in a special Staff Recognition event at the Rose Bowl. We ask that you complete all business transactions early that day.
